We welcome you to make the Thrift Shop YOUR store and give back to our community. We pride ourselves on offering a friendly and caring presence in the community. We rely heavily on volunteers and welcome all volunteers at any time during open business hours. Your time with the Thrift Shop is greatly appreciated. Please don’t forget to log your volunteer hours into VMIS. Below you will find the information you need to get started.
Here are some volunteer rewards and benefits for working at the ASCC Community Thrift Shop:
- Flexible schedules.
- First choice on donated merchandise.
- Receive first consideration for paid positions in the shop, when available.
- Accumulate volunteer hours for your resume.
- Accumulate volunteer hours for a MOVSM (10 Promotion Points).
- Childcare reimbursement of 12 hours per month through the CDC, upon manager’s approval and pending CDC availability.
- Discounts on merchandise.
- You must volunteer at least one hour to receive a discount on any Thrift Shop property.
- For every hour you volunteer you will receive a 50% discount on up to $10.00 (retail) on Thrift Shop property to be used throughout the quarter.
VOLUNTEER CODE OF CONDUCT
As a volunteer for the ASCC Thrift Shop, you must agree to the following code of conduct:
- Abide by the commitment I made in terms of working a designated shift and/or of taking care of a specific task.
- Communicate with the Manager in the event that I am not able to fulfill my commitment of time or to complete the task on any one day.
- Maintain an attitude of respect, loyalty, patience, integrity, honesty, courtesy, tact, and maturity towards our customers, other volunteers, staff, and merchandise belonging to or being consigned through the Thrift Shop.
- Present a positive image to people that I meet in the workplace by maintaining a neat, clean, and appropriately dressed appearance.
